Sara and Tommaso got married on 21 May in Bologna, and part of their day was shot on film. The morning was calm and simple: white shoes beside a bottle of perfume, a dress with a big bow at the back, and Tommaso in a rust-brown suit, getting ready with his family.
They married in the church of Santa Maria della Misericordia, just outside Porta Castiglione, under Gothic vaults and a gilded altarpiece, and walked out beneath the portico as their guests showered them with rice.
The celebration continued at Villa La Quiete di Mezzana, a red eighteenth-century villa in the hills of Sasso Marconi: long tables on the lawn under the old trees, portraits in the garden at golden hour, a jazz band with a double bass, a cake dressed with fresh flowers and dancing until late.
