Mikhaila & Tommaso
Mikhaila and Tommaso’s Australian–Italian wedding took place on 17 June in the Tuscan hills of the Valdelsa. The morning was calm and full of light: the rings beside a wax seal, a gilded mirror leaning against the old brick, the dress waiting in a room with yellow-striped walls.
They said their vows in the frescoed courtyard of Palazzo Pretorio in Certaldo Alto, surrounded by centuries-old coats of arms, then walked out together through the medieval brick streets of the old town.
In a white Beetle convertible we drove out onto the white roads between the wheat fields and the cypresses, where the wind kept catching the veil. The celebration continued at Torre Rasa, near Castelfiorentino, with dinner under the pergola, a second look in silk and a first dance at the end of the evening.
