Maria Chiara and Simone got married on 15 June in Valeggio sul Mincio. The morning began at the bride's family home: the stationery laid out with her shoes and jewellery, a long hug with her mother once the dress was on, a kiss for her grandmother before leaving.
Simone was waiting at the church, and he couldn't hold back his tears when Maria Chiara walked down the aisle on her father's arm. After the ceremony we went down to Borghetto, with its old mills and the medieval bridge over the Mincio, for a spritz by the river and portraits in the narrow lanes.
The celebration continued at the family home in the Veneto countryside: a long table across the lawn set with flowers and pale pink glasses, the chefs plating dinner in a long line, sparklers around the cake and dancing under the trees until late.
